Dear Doctor, I was married a year ago and inspite of unprotected sex every other day(almost), my wife did not conceive. During the 10th month myself and wife went to a fertility clinic and met a doctor. My self was tested for semen analysis with results complying to WHO Standards. My wife on the other side had undergone many test and all test results were normal except the HSG. the result of HSG was that in her right fallopian tube it was diagnosed with Hydrosalpinx. Doctor had informed that the only solution is to remove the fallopian tube(Salpingectomy) and undergo IVF. On the contrary, my family doctor who is a gynecologist and not a fertility specialst did not recommed for removal and she further told that this can be cured in medication. Could you please review the above case and inform how important is to do Salpingectomy for conceiving or this can happen with medication?
