Is The Tumor In My Neck Malignant?

Hi, I had a benign tumor removed from my left neck two years ago. Now I have two confirmed by ultra sound on my right side. I went for a ct with dye resolution yesterday. Get the results next week for next step. Surgeon confirmed they have to come out. But in meantime is it common to have two come back on other side? Is there a greater or less chance they are malignant this time?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
Development of lumps on right side of neck could be due to recurrence of similar benign tumor which was present on left side of neck.
However, the lumps could be new lumps.
Inorder to know the exact nature and character of the lesion, aspiration cytology of the lesion needs to be done.
An aspiration cytology involves aspiration of cells from the lump with needle.
The cellular material is spread on a glass slide and stained with appropriate stains.
The cells are examined under the microscope and thus the lesion can be diagnosed and management.

Thanks and take care
