Is The Propofol Still In My System Causing Migraine?
Immediately after waking up from my colonoscopy with propofol, I had the worst head pain, and then migraine of my life. I also couldn t stop throwing up/dry heaving. I went from the colonscopy center to the ER. I ve had a headache, constantly threatening to be a migraine since then(5 days) is the propofol still in my system causing this?
Propofol is used for induction of anesthesia and its half life is 30-60 minutes and its get completely eliminated from body in maximum 24 hours by hepatic metabolism. I not think that propofol is till running in your system.
If you are having intermittent headache, then It may be a coincident that your migraine headache got triggered during you underwent colonoscopy.
You please tell details of headache - frequency/ trigger factors/ relieving factors/ association with any nausea or vomiting/ photo phobia or phonophobia. Also i advise you to undergo an MRI Brain or CT Head.
Please revert with details as i asked and MRI/CT head reports.
