Is The Oven Safe To Use With The Burnt Smell Of The Plastic?

a small plastic cap from a barbeque bottle accidentally feel to the bottom of my oven, when i pre-heated my oven, it melted....i am trying everything to get the smell away to know avail....how bad is it to smell burnt plastic and how safe is it to use?

Smell is actually not harfull for short duration. but if remains in your oven for years than it may be a serious problem. only problem with the burnt plastic you have is a bad smell that stick to your food. so only the taste is the only problem for you for short duration. You should clean your oven and remove debris of burnt plastic. though smell remains even after your removal but it will gradually disappear.
