Is Termination Advisable For The Low Gestational Age Fetus With Slow Heart Rate?

Hi, my najeeb, i d like to discuss my wife pregnancy. her LMP is 4th July 2014 and EDD is 10 april 2015. On 1 sept 2014 her Gestational age according to LMP is 8 Weeks 3 days but after ultra sound mean sac dia is 13mm, 6 weeks 1 day. CRL is 1.6mm . so gestational age according to ultrasound is 6 weeks 1 day and Fetal pole & cardiac flicker appreciated. and a follow up scan advised after two week. today 15 of sept, two ultra sound done; first ultra sound show that the size is same as on 1 of sep and no growth but a heart beat found after a little struggle. second ultra sound shows that there is no heart beat but size only increase for one week. so comments are in favour of missed abortion. please advised. thanks

Hello sir and welcome.

The first abnormality noted was a growth retardation (IUGR), and then the fetal heart beat was not found. As correctly mentioned by you, a missed abortion is the most probable diagnosis. I am sorry about this. Do not worry, you can always try again, but this time make sure you consult a doctor and go about an elaborate evaluation before you start trying to conceive.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
