Is Taking Viagra Safe While Suffering From Atrial Fibrillation?
I have a afib that is under control and have gone without any significant incident for several years. I had an ablation procedure and since all has been good. I take propafenon, diltisen and Benicar daily. Is it safe for me to use Viagra. I am 62 years old and in good health, exercise everyday....
Viagra is not recommended in people with cardiac problems.Viagra can lower blood pressure and can worsen cardiac conditions. Moreover since you are on medications to lower blood pressure ,taking viagra along with them can lower your blood pressure to dangerously low levels. So dose adjusement of antihypertensive mediactions are required before starting on viagra. I recommend that you follow up with your doctor for reconsideration of doses of medications you are on, and to see if Viagra is the right choice for you.
Hope I was able to answer your question Please feel free to address any more concerns Regards, Dr.Lekshmi
