Is Taking Prolia Safe For Bone Loss In Jaw While Suffering From Osteopenia?

I am a 58 year old female who started taking letrozole 2.5mg, 1/day, 2 months ago.Approx 17 years ago I was informed that I had 40% bone loss in my lower jaw. What is the probability that the letrozole will increase bone loss in my jaw? In addition, last week I was informed I have osteopenia and the doctor recommends prolia injections every 6 months. What is the probability that the prolia will increase jaw bone loss?Thank you very much!

Yes Prolia is safe for bone mineral loss in jaws while suffering from Osteoporosis. Letrozole has this side effect of causing increase in osteoporosis, so Prolia would be helpful in controlling the osteoporosis.
As you are more concerend about bone loss in jaw, i want to tell you that. bone loss in edentulous area is more prone to osteoporosis than the Jaw bone in dentulous area. Bone loss in dentulous area can be controlled by strict plaque control, maintainance of oral hygeine & regular cleaning of teeth & gums.

So you should take prolia injections every 6 months as recommended by your doctor
