Is Taking Deriphyllin Safe To Control BP And Heart Palpitations?
hi dr. my mother is 73 year old ,she has BP problem,she also gets palpitation some times after that she feels week,one of the dr. prescribed her deriphyllin retard 150mg.after having that tablet she takes rest for 24 hours then she feels better is that medicine is safe for her?

Deriphylline tab is safe but does not control blood pressure and palpitation.. To control blood pressure some other treatment has to be given. If i have to treat such a patient i will advice tab atenolol to begin with 50 and if not fully controlled i would increase it to 100mg. Tab atenolol will control both BP & PALPITATION
