Is Swimming Recommended With Perforated Ear Drum?

hi my son has a perferated ear drum, and has been on swimming lessons while using cotton wool and vaseline to protect his ear as advised. However today (second day of swimming lessons) later on early evening at shower time his ear started to bleed not loads but a bit were it trickled down his ear lobe, can he still carry on with the swimming lessons and do I need to seek medical advice he is not in any pain, could you give me some advice thanks

No, please ask him not to go for swimming as this can lead to infection and increase the size of perforation and worsen the hearing loss. Please meet your ent doctor for the bleeding, he will examine your son and guide you further. Thanks
