Is Swelling Of Cheek Bones A Side Effect Of General Anesthesia?

after a general anaesthetic for a foot operation the next day I have red swelling on my cheek bones why is this ? Regards XXXX

Hello,

It is unlikely that the swelling on your cheek is due to a side effect of the general anesthesia. It is possible that there was minimal injury while the endotracheal tube was being placed to help you breathe. You could try using an ice pack to get some relief. If it persists, you could contact the surgeon who performed the surgery.
