Is Surgery Recommended For Prostate Cancer At This Time?

I am 52 years old and was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in 2013. At the time we took the watchful waiting path. The results of a recent biopsy (6/7/16) did not look promising: 9 of 12 cores have cancer ranging from 45% to 90% with a Gleason score of 7. Is surgery recommended at this time? Or radiation? Or continue watchful waiting?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

At this time, either surgery, if the disease is well localized or radiation therapy can be done. Results of both are equally good.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Loveleen Sharma, General & Family Physician
