Is Surgery Needed For Mild Degenerative Changes In Tibiofemoral Compartment?

a plan MRI of the right knee was performed of my mother age 54. impressions are:1-mild degenerative changes in the tibiofemoral compartment, mild joint effusion. 2-tear of the body and posterior horn of medial meniscus. As per report so is surgery needed?

If you are a symptomatic with pain or difficulty in walking. Surgical correction in the form of arthroscopic repair may be required.
