Is Surgery Advisable When Loose Cords Are Around The Fetal Neck?
I am now 38 weeks pregnant....in my sonography of 34th week .....doc found that amniotic fluid is low around 6. something & baby weight was around 2.5 kg and 2 loose cord seen around neck .......Hence my doc suggested to take argipreg sachet 2 times a day in full glass of water to increase amniotic fluid level.... & suggested sonography again after 2weeks in my 37th week sonography ........reports came as amniotic fluid increased to 7. something, baby weight around 3.33 kg (rough figure – he mentioned that ) and 2 loose cord noted around neck. He is suggesting to get operated ..........but i want a normal delivery ......... kindly help
Hello, Welcome to hcm, Loop around the neck is common in babies in utero. During the baby movements the loop will be corrected most of the times. As you have oligohydrominos there is difficult for baby movements and chances of getting cord around the neck is difficult. So your doctor as advised for c section as it's difficult for the labour to progress and may lead to any difficulty for the baby.
Thank you
