General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
Steroid drugs are generally given in tapered doses. That means the dose gradually decreased towards the end. This is done to avoid problems arises out of sudden withdrawal of steroid. But This is done in long done long duration treatment as in nephrotic syndrome.
In your case it is just a matter of seven days and dose tapering may not be needed.
If you cant tolerate the steroid, you can stop the drug after discussing with treating physician.
Hope this information helps.
Regards.
