Is Steroid Injection Ideal For Painful Knees?

My mother, 80 yrs. old, had a steroid injection a couple of weeks ago for painful knee (needs knee replacement). She had regular checkup lab work and the results today show BUN went from perfect 3 mos. ago to 46 today; serum creatinine 1.18 and EGFR 43. Could the injection increase all of this?

Hi
Welcome to healhcaremagic
After going through your query I concluded that your mother got steroid injection in her knee a couple of months ago. Now her kidney function is deranged. You want to know that whether it was due to steroid injection in the joint. I think it is not linked to steroid. It is likely to be due to aging. You can discuss with your Doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any further questions then don't hesitate to writing to us . I will be happy to help you.
