Is Stabbing Pain A Symptom Of Hematoma?

Hi I fell down a whole flight of stairs almost two weeks ago. Had a CT scan to check my neck and brain were OK ,results came back fine. However besides lots of bumps and bruises which have now begin to go, I have a lump on my shin. I spoke to my GP last week she said it was a hematoma but yesterday I have started to get sharp stabbing pains from inside my leg when I walk. Is this a normal feeling associated with a hematoma? Thanks

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Hematoma can lead to compression of surrounding tissues like muscle, fascia etc. It is unlikely to experience stabbing pain due to a hematoma. I suggest you to consult an orthopedician for clinical assessment and relevant investigations to know the type of lesion in leg.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
