Is Severe Scalp Itching Correlated To Habitual Chrystal Meth Smoking And What Could Be The Remedy?

my wife is 39 yrs old thai and habitual chrystal meth smoker. i will say she is very controlled but sadly it seems to be very big in thai culture for energy boosting i guess tonghit she has suddenly come over with severe itchiness all over her body, particularly her scalp. she was sleeping and seems to have scratched herself alot in her sleep which has caused the red marks. there a some (10-20) small bumps in various places of her body, but other than that she has no strange symptoms.

she has eaten only grapes from a different place from usually (a open market i think) in the last few hours, but has had changed bedding on our bed. my son was asleep in our bed and has np symptom whatsoever.

it looks to me like an allergic reaction but due to the drug use i am a little concerned, she has had issue with itchy scalp before many times, which were treated with tgel shampoo

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

It seems that your wife might have prurigo nodularis or papular urticaria. Stress, insect hypersensitivity, drug abuse or some other factor may be responsible. Give her steroid in tappering dose, levocetirizine and antibiotics after consulting dermatologist. And tell her to avoid meth smoking. Apply steroid cream on the lesions. Avoid soap bath. She can use dettol in bath water. I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
