Hello,
Your symptoms are indicative of
costochondritis. Costochondritis means the presence of
rib cage cartilage inflammation. It commonly happens due to infection, injury, and other health conditions. Other medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms are sprain-strain, pinched nerve, neurological problems, injury/trauma, etc.
You are suggested to take
naproxen, one stat after food for relief. Applying pain relieving sprays like Volini and gentle massage with pain relieving ointment is helpful. Get connected to a Physical therapist, do exercises under observation. If obese, loose weight and do regular walking.
Stay at rest, avoid picking up heavy objects. Hot or cold therapy using a
heating pad and ice is helpful. Get clinically examined by a GP, to rule out any heart problem associated with the symptoms.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
