Hello,

You are suffering from severe itching at the vagina. Your vulval skin is coming out as you have a pad there. Remove the pad if you are not having your periods. Wash the area thoroughly with water. Wear soft cotton clothes, take bath regularly and avoid any sexual activity and masturbation for a couple of days. Vaginal itching commonly occurs due to bacterial vaginosis and yeast infection. If it is due to yeast infection you should take a course of antifungal medicine orally.

Yeast fasts on moist, warm area so keep your private area clean and dry. You will have to take a course of metronidazole if it is due to BV. To avoid vaginal and vulval itching you can apply a thin layer of clotrimazole ointment on the area affected and take antihistamine to prevent itching due to allergy. Get clinically examined by a gynecologist, get STD tests done to stay on the safer side if sexually active. You will be accordingly treated with antibiotics and antivirals.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
