Is Severe Abdominal Pain Due To Surgical Clips?

About 10 years ago i had my gall bladder and appendix removed at the same time. all these years i have had annoying pain in my abdomen but nothing that would take me to the er. i assumed it was because i have had two c-sections, my tubes tied, my appendix out and that i am obese. three weeks ago i had to have a upper GI done and the x-ray tech had asked me if i have had and abdominal surgery recently, and she looked puzzled. i toldd her no. she then said that i have CLAMPS in my abdomen. are thy suppose to be there and could this be the reason for my pain

Hi.

Clamps? Did she mention clamps? Get an xray done of the region and report to any doctor with them, if there is something that was used to close a wound or even stop bleeding, it should have dissolved by now (10 years). Report to a doctor and if these objects need to be removed, do that at the earliest, this could very well be the cause for your presentation.

Best wishes.
