Is Ripped Muscle The Reason For Tearing Sensation, Numbness And Soreness In The Leg?

I m a footballer and got hit on side of my right leg and now I am numb from top of my foot up to the top of my shin on right side of right leg. It is only sore wen I run. And when I stop it feels like a tearing sensation. Would I have a ripped muscle or something?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

I have read your question and in my opinion, it is quite possible that you may have torn the muscle in leg along with pressing on one of the nerves. This pressure on the nerves causes the numbness, while soreness on running is due to a torn muscle.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Gopal Goel, Orthopaedic Surgeon
