Is Removal Of A Large Internal Hernia Necessary?

My surgeon told me that I have a large internal hernia and when he was performing my surgery, he said he had to work around it. I asked him if I should have it removed. He said to remove it would involve the moving of many vital internal organs and as long as it doesn t bother me, I should leave it alone. Do you agree and could it be a factor as I age/gain weight, etc.?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
It cant cause weight gain. Also, I am not sure if this diagnosis is right since internal hernias are usually found when there is some symptoms of it. So i dont think this should be surgically repaired unless there are signs of incarceration.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
