Is Redness In Sclera Post Injury A Cause For Concern?

HI my fiancé was in a very minor car accident today, hit from behind. I noticed the white part of his eyes are red. Is this of concern, should he go to an emergency room to get checked for this? What could possibly cause redness in eyes post vehicle accident.

Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
The redness in the sclera and conjuctiva can be secondary to the fractured orbital bone or ant soft tissue injury.
Nothing to be panic, consult an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and get it evaluated. You need to get a radiograph done to confirm the diagnosis. If there is a displaced fractured bone, it has to be treated with surgery. If the fracture is not displaced then no need to worry. If it is a soft tissue injury, it will subside by its own.
I hope i have answered your query. Take care.
