Is Procedure To Place Tendon On Bone And Fixing It That Of Rotator Cuff?

I have been advised to have a surgery for my rotator cuff. I was told that the tendon will need to be pulled down to be put back in its original place to cover the bone and held in place by metal attachments. My question is does this sound like a rotator cuff tear or is it called something else ?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
It is rotator cuff tear and in this cuff is sutured with shoulder bone with the help of metal anchors, which are having thread attached to them. These metal pieces are called as suture anchor. These anchors are useful because before that only method to suture bone with any soft tissue was to make a tunnel in the soft tissue which was not easy.
anchors are made up of titanium and now a days a biodegradable variants are also available. So we can choose according to our need. Biodegradable are dissolved after say a year.
