Is Pregnancy Possible Upon Having Intercourse On The 5th Day Of Menstruation?

Hello doctor, I had sex with my bf on my 5th day of period and exactly after 6 days i had experienced the withdrawl bleeding which lasted for 3-4 days. Now I am 4 days late of my next period. Can there be any chance of pregnancy, since i had sex on a very safe day?

Hi,

"Fertile window" is the time when there is maximum chance of becoming pregnant. It is usually on the day of ovulation (14th day) of cycle and 5 days before it (which means from 9th to 14th day of period), therefore it's very unlikely to become pregnant on having sex on 5th day of period.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammad Zahir Shah, Internal Medicine Specialist
