Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Postinor 2 After Intercourse?

Please i had sex several times last month but we used the withdrawal method I took postinor 2 when i realised he released into me on one occasion. Im now pregnant and i don t know which sex brought about the pregnancy . Will the postinor 2 affect my pregnancy in anyway?

Hi. Yes pregnancy is possible even after taking Postinor tablets. Usually Postinor tablets have no effect on pregnancy.

Although Postinor is a very effective emergency contraceptive pill but it might fail in a very small number of cases. Secondly withdrawal is not a very effective method for avoiding pregnancy. In your case failure of withdrawal method is more likely the cause of pregnancy.

Regarding your other query, research has not demonstrated any adverse effects of Postinor on pregnancy or health of fetus.
