Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Being On Birth Control Pills?

Hi my period is 5 days late. I had sex with my boyfriend last January 3 and the next day I took 3 tablets of Trust pills and another 3 every 12 hours but I eventually stop taking them. I experienced the side effects and on January 15 I had my period but it is 1 week early and that s very unusual for me because I m regular and it lasted 4 days but on and off and not so heavy. On February 1 we had sex again and this time I didn t take Trust pills. I am 5 days late to my period now and I tried pregnancy test but it came negative. Am I pregnant?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
By going through your description, it appears that there wouldn't be much problem with January episode as you had periods.
However, since you had intercourse again in February which was unprotected and did not take any measures to prevent pregnancy, delay in periods should suspect that you could have conceived.
Kindly wait for 1 more week and take a urine pregnancy test again, which would tell you about the status. In case you still have doubt regarding being pregnant, you can consult Gynecologist for clinical examination to confirm about it.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
