What you have done is right as it needs to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. In case you have intercourse again after 24 hours, it is advisable to take another dose again. Since it is a hormonal preparation it can cause certain side effects like intermittewnt spotting or brown discharge following its intake. It prevents pregnancy by causing breakthrough bleeding within 3 weeks from the day of its intake. In case the bleeding doesn t happen by 3 weeks, you need to take a urine pregnancy test and seek medical attention promptly for further evaluation. Because of the intake of pill and bleeding happening following it, your period schedule may change accordingly. Next period should happen as regular as before and should continue with the same.
