Hi. My name is melissah. I have been using nur-istrate for 3 years now and I missed my last injection which was dused on the 15th of March. Can I get pregnant if I have unprotected sex now? Because since I stopped I can t see my periods, is it still working in my body or I can get pregnant soon? Please help.

Hi, I think you can get pregnant now by unprotected intercourse. But in some cases, ovulation is suppressed for first few months. It may take 6 months for ovaries to regain its function after stopping the injection. So, pregnancy can get delayed. If you want pregnancy early, you can take some medicines like meprate or deviry for inducing periods first. After that, you can track your ovulation by repeated ultrasound or by ovulation detection kits. Be in contact with your husband every 2 to 3 days after your periods stop. It will increase chance of pregnancy. Talk to your doctor regarding this. Hope it helps.
