Is Popping Sound In Head Followed By Dull Headache After A Fall Concerning?

Last Monday I feel and hit my head. As I was laying on the couch I felt and heard a pop on the right top side of my head. About 15 minutes later I got a dull headache from the place where I felt the pop The pain seems to go from the right side of my forehead to the back ride side of my skull. Should I be concerned?

Hello,

Your description of the event does not seem to suggest a significant or intolerable amount of pain and you are not mentioning any concerning symptoms such as sudden nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, reduced level of consciousness, etc. etc.

Therefore, I believe it would be a good idea to go in for a checkup to your regular doctor but not necessarily on an EMERGENT basis unless any of the above symptoms develop.

Otherwise, relax, maintain good hydration, activity as tolerated, and make an appointment just to be reviewed when your doctor can get you in so the episode can be documented.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
