Is Playing Sport Safe While Suffering From Loss Of Hearing Due To Perforated Eardrum?

I got hit on the ear playing squash in Monday and have been told I have a perofrated eardrum. It is not painful, I have no balance issues just some loss of hearing in that ear. I am due to play squash again tonight - is it ok to continue to play sport/squash or should I not be exerting myself?

hi dear,

perforated ear drum is not serious condition and most cases it naturally heals by itself without treatment.

you can play squash but you need to be careful and avoid possible contacts on your ear.. so don't worry and go enjoy your game.

also remember until your ear heals well please avoid water to get in to your ear. try to avoid swimming at the moment.
when taking shower make sure you plug a cotton in your ear and seal it with vaseline to avoid water to go in your ear or you can consider wearing a shower hat instead

hope you get better soon
