Is Parenthood Possible At The Age Of 52?

Good Day Dr Jain



We lost our only child in an accident abroad . He was studing there .We live in India .

My wifw and I are , both, 52 yars of age .

My wife's menstural cycles stopped about 18 months back

We would like to have a child now, even though we are a fair bit advanced in age

Please advise .

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your son. Both you and your wife are considering having another child. There are cases of women getting pregnant after age 50 but the majority of them required a fertility specialist. If you are serious about having another child then I would recommend you talk with a fertility specialist to determine what your overall chances of conceiving are.
