Is Pain In The Upper Back Due To Kidney Disease?

I have been in kidney failure in August from a UTI. I got the septic it shut my kidneys down. I now have a UTI on macrobid I m in stage 2 kidney diese now. My back is hurting on the right side the upper back. Is this from the kidneys . It s different than my back pain from my disc issues I have. What do I need to do ? How can I get some relieve?

Hi thanks for asking question.

Noted you have positive history of UTI.
So you could have this time possibly pyelonephritis or glomerulonephritis like condition.USG done for it with Urine examination.urine might show pus cells.

Antibiotic must be given for 10 to 14 days for it, including initial 3 days intravenous antibiotic.Cefixime or ofloxacin like drug can be given.

Second if pain spasmodic and colicky type then stone might be the cause.

Meanwhile .......
-drink more water
-Avoid spicy food
-avoid smoke
-cranberry juice extract tablet or juice taken

If USG show suspicion mass lesion then biopsy needed.Biopsy sometime may also needed for subtyping glomerulonephritis IG needed.
