Is Pain In The Eyes While On Methylprednisolone A Matter Of Concern?

I ve recently been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Had first visit with neurologist last week. I have not been on any medications for the MS yet. I ve had pain in my left eye since last week Thursday, Pains and hurts to touch or turn the eye. Went to ER and they prescribed 4mg Methylprednisolone following shot of steroid in my muscle. one day left of the Methylprednisolone and my eye is still hurting and still blurred. Should I be concerned?

Hi,

You may have developed optic neuritis also called neuromyelitis optica.

It may present like blurring of vision or retro-orbital pain and headache etc.

Please get fundoscopy, ocular examination, serum B12 level and MRI brain.

Continue steroids, please consult your neuro physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
