Is Pain And Clicking Sound In Knee Due To Tibial Plateau Fracture?

Hi,,, my husband fell 2 days ago and has severe pain in his right outside of his leg just below the knee. No bruising but makes a clicking noise when he moves it side to side. More pain when it moves to the inside. No swelling either... I wondered it he has a tibial plateau fracture??

Hello madam
I have read your question
There can be three reasons for that
1.Fracture - which will be very painful and won't even allow him to walk
2.ligament tear - even this is very painful, but restricted movement is possible
3.meniscal tear-this one particularly gives that click sound when walking.
I would advise you to get an xray of the knee joint and MRI scan of the same as required.
For time being
1.give rest to the knee joint and
2.take analgesics (tab. aceclofenac twice daily)
Hope I have helped you. If you have anymore queries I would be happy to answer. Thank you. Good day
