Is Numbness Of Tongue Common With Alleve Mouthwash?

I had a lump (I think a traumatic fibroma) removed from the edge of my tongue 2 weeks ago. Biopsy showed it was benign. But it still is quite painful; site of lesion removal was cauterized, but it keeps splitting open...I can eat few foods.I m using Alleve and a mouthwash containing benydryl, maloox and Lidocaine. Wash helps for about 15 minutes only; makes my mouth temporarily numb.Is this healing process normal?(68-year-old woman; no smoking history.)
