What Causes Numbness After Using Mouthwash?

Hello Doc,

Iam 36 yrs old. I have allergic reactions with mouth washes such as floridex, listerene, scope. I get numbness of the tongue, loss of taste lasting 1 to 2 wks. Is it something in the mouthwash that iam allergic to or someother medical condition.

Thanks for using Health Care Magic.

Read your query.

Mouth washes usually cause the numbness of the oral cavity or the mild burning sensation when used .If in your case the numbness or the burning sensation is more or beyond measure, please stop using it.

You can use warm saline gargles. Also try using these mouth washes with a more diluted form .

Thanks and regards.
