Is Numbness In Head Normal Post Suffering A Trauma?

Hello, 4- days ago, I reached across the seats of my car, turned quickly and hit the car door with the side of my head - temple area. It swelled, turned blue and I also have a black eye. I didn t black out, but did sink to the floor. Metal doors are very unforgiving. Now the side of my head, near the temple, is numb and has turned yellow. I don t know if the numbness is normal. Oh, and I didn t go to a doctor when it happened.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have numbness in head normal post suffering a trauma. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like tissue damage , nerve injury , hematoma , fracture or inflammatory . I would suggest you to consult neurologist without any delay .Doctor may order CT scan , MRI or physical examination to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe anti coagulant , anti inflammatory or may recommend surgery to drain the hematoma . For now do icing of that area and take proper rest .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
