Is My Ankle Broken If It Is Swollen And Painful After Twisting?
I twisted my ankle on my way to class. I did have minor pain right after it happened. Than on my way home from class I twisted it again stepping of the bus. When I got home and went up the steps I had minor pain. On my way down the steps it hurt really bad. It is swollen and I have an egg like shape on that outside ball area, the left side. It is the right ankle that I had twisted. What are the chances of it being broken? I can walk but it is rather uncomfortable to do.
Hi, As mentioned by you following trauma ie twisting of ankle you hav pain swelling & restricted movement which suggest feature of fracture or sprain of ankle. So my opinion would be to consult a orthopaedic surgeon and get a radiological investigation done to rule out any fracture. Till you reach there take analgesic, cold compression( in recent injury), limb elevation .
Thanks & regards
