Is lower backache a symptom of a kidney infection?

I have lower back pain but it’s constant now and I have not done anything to tweek it. I am worried it’s a kidney infection as I have had one before because I by-passed a bladder infection

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Less likely to be an infection. If it is associated with frequency and burning urination, then infection is likely.

I hope this information has been helpful for you.

Hi. My name is Amber I am 22 years old 165 lbs, fairly active, have no allergies, chronic illness or any other disorders. Take a multivitamin, folic acid, vitamin D/Calcium and vitamin E every day. I recently started biking to work (about 75 minutes of riding total per day) and developed a UTI. I didn t realize until maybe the 2nd day of and started treating by taking more vitamin C, cranberry concentrated pills and making sure to hydrate and rest. It hasn t gone away and I have some persistent pain in my right lower back. I fear that it might have become a kidney infection. What should I do?

Hi, I have a very uncomfortable feeling in the lower right side of my backa little below my bra strap. It started yesterday and if i bend backwards toward that side it is uncomfortable. I have had a low backache also but no other symptoms or injuries. Just wondering if it could be a kidney infection? Thank you. YYYY@YYYY
