Is Low Body Weight Of An Infant Despite Having Normal Appetite A Cause For Concern?

Hello doctor, My wife has delivered a female baby in the enf of 37 th week via C section and weight of baby was 3.4 KGS.baby was chubby but now its 3 weeks and now baby s looking very tiny and slim, but feeding and urinating and feceating good..is this a concern? Should we have to take any supplements for mother to get quality breast milk or weight gain for my baby? We are worried because its being a concern among FAM members.thanks

Hi,

First, you should weigh your baby. Babies loose weight after birth which is a normal phenomenon. You should feed the baby by breastfeed every 2 hours and if the baby is feeding well then you should not worry much about it.
