Is Lime Juice Safe During Pregnancy?

My wife is 6 weeks into pregnancy now and as elders in our families suggested, she has added fruits to her regular diet. She has one glass of sweet lime juice every morning. She says she has heart burns after having the juice probably due to the citric acid content. Is it ok for her to have sweet lime juice during this phase of pregnancy?

Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Nausea, vomiting and acid reflux is common in early pregnancy. Hence citrus fruits and vegetables like lemon and oranges are better to be avoided in early pregnancy.
I would suggest your wife to avoid having lime juice in first trimester. She can have it once her nausea and vomiting subsides.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
