Is Light Or No Periods A Common Symptom While Taking Pirmella?

I recently started taking pirmella birth control. I started on my third week thus past Sunday. I thought I was starting my menstrual cycle Tuesday, but I only saw blood one time when I used the restroom. I cramped all day Tuesday, but didn t actually see a period. Now it s just brown discharge, like it normally is when my cycle stops. Is that normal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Hormonal birth control can cause changes in the intensity of the period and may also affect the duration (shortens it) as well.

There is usually also decreased pain and other symptoms as well.

This means that the change in your cycle can definitely be related to the birth control medication

I hope this helps
