Is Leg And Back Pain With A History Of Sarcoma Anything Serious?

My husband had a sarcoma 3 yrs ago in his thigh, most muscle was removed. radiation, chemo all have been completed. we drove for about 3 hrs this weekend, stopped twice along the way to get out and stretch. Once we reached our destination we drove in town and were walking a few blocks to where we were going. The longer he walked the more he sort of dragged his foot, then started listing forward and walking faster and faster. he said his leg hurt, his back hurt and then said he wasn t sure it was either of those things that were causing him to lean forward but he thought it could be his equilibrium. He states today he doesn t want a Dr called and he doesn t wish to go for treatment. I am the concerned wife and am not sure what I should do now.

Hi,

Noted the history about Sarcoma treated in thigh of your husband, limping and gait changes after a long drive, pain in back too.
My thoughts:
Long drive might have caused muscle spam getting apparent on getting down the vehicle.
Secondaries in spine could have been thought about if not recently reviewed by PET scan.
He should be seen by a Doctor as he is already operated and something serious should be caught as early as possible.
Till then ask him to rest strictly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
