Is Left Arm Numbness After Exercise A Symptom Of Cardiac Problem?

My left arm goes numb when I exercise (it seems to do it more often when it s cold but that might not be accurate) and it s happen ever since I was 12 to 14 years old (I m now 20). A friend mentioned that this might be a cardiac problem, should I be worried? I m 5 3 and 160 pounds and my father had a heart issue if that helps.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Heart disease would usually be associated with chest symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations along with any additional symptoms.

The fact that the numbness occurs with exercise may indicate if that there may be reduced circulation to that area. The blood supply may be compromised slightly in some way.

Your may want to consider imaging of the neck, shoulder and elbow to see if there are any changes that may be affecting blood supply

I hope this helps
