Is Lasik Surgery A Good Option To Quit Spectacles?

Hi Doctors,



I m 23 years old i just read in the news paper regarding the LASIK surgery but in that they have mentioned only the positive points but they haven't mentioned the risks but in this google the informations are clear but i would like to just to know if i undergo the lasik surgery will i can get rid of spectacles or not and also after undergoing the lasik surgery is every will be alright or not can u please suggest which hospital is best and the what cost it will bear.

1. At you age, especially after 18, when the power does not change and is constant since 3-4 years, LASIK can be done.
2. Complications rarely seen are dry eye, for which artificial tear drops maybe needed for 3-6 months.
3. Extreme precaution is necessary during the initial period to avoid secondary infection and also not to displace the upper corneal layer. If properly followed, hardly any complications.
4. You can go any major eye hospital. Multiple options are there based on the method used, which can be decided after initial investigations are completed regarding the myopia correction. Getting rid of spectacles is dependent on the amount of myopia and corneal thickness.
