Hi,

In unstressed individuals, normal blood lactate concentration in unstressed patients is 0.5 - 1 mmol/L. Patients with critical illness can be considered to have normal lactate concentrations of less than 2 mmol/L. Hyperlactatemia is defined as a mild to moderate persistent increase in blood lactate concentration between 2 - 4 mmol/L.

The values you have mentioned of 2.3 is marginal increase than normal individuals. However, if the values are maintained, it can be considered normal. If the values show an increasing trend in subsequent follow-up, then intervention would be necessary. Kindly do the follow-up as advised by your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
