Is Knee Replacement Recommended For A Person Suffering From Femur Fracture And Arthritis?
Hi my name is Katherine, My mom had surgery back in February for a lateral meniscal tear. After her surgery there has not been any type of improvement. Besides, her surgery she has arthritis, patellar tendonitis and possibly osteoporosis. From January until now, she s had three MRIs. From her first MRI it showed cartilage loss, her second MRI showed a fracture on her femur and hardly any sign of cartilage, finally on her third MRI the cartilage is gone, but the fracture is improving. By the way, she s 51 years old and healthy. In addition , due to the arthritis, she gets effusions on her knee. Should she get a knee replacement? Thank you

You could have sustained internal injury to your knee joint resulting in damage to cruciate ligaments and/or menisci. You need to consult an orthopedic surgeon as you may need arthoscopy.
