Hello Doctor, i love my daughter very much.. she is very pretty and cute.. her age is 1.4months going.. she is having vomitting,loose motion problem in last 5 days.. we have consulted 2 doctors.. and they prescribed syrup.. but still problem is not sorted out.. now today my daughter right eyes is red in half side of the eyes and she open his mouth and sleeping.. she is not able to close the mouth.. please help me.. now she is very tyred and very week.. having wight 6.5kgs only from 7.5kgs.. please help doctor..
HI..by what you quote I feel that your kid might be having a viral diarrhea with dehydration. The way you tell that she has lost 1 kg in 5 days she should be definitely dehydrated.
The signs of dehydration are - dry tongue, sunken eyes, low urine output, loss of skin turgor, abdominal distension and extreme lethargy and tiredness.
She will require Intravenous fluids. I suggest you consult your pediatrician and get her hydrated will either will ORS or intravenous fluids.
I suggest you use zinc supplements (Z&D drops 1ml once daily for 14 days) & ORS (Each small packet mixed in 200ml of potable water and keep giving sip by sip) as hydration is very important and crucial part of treatment. If there is vomiting you can use Syrup Ondansetron (as prescribed by your paediatrician).
