Is It The Weight Loss Supplements Causing Kidney Like Pain?
I am currently taking HCG Pellets for weightloss. I am doing the VLCD along with it. Seeing great results, taking supplements and feeling GREAT....EXCEPT I have been having a dull ache in my mid/lower back on the right side, feeling very kidney like. I do drink between 80-120 ounces of water daily, I eat about 12 ounces of protein a day (60 grams) very little fat and very little sugar/carbs/sodium. I am 5'5" and 226 lbs (female). I have lost a total of 41 lbs over 3 months and 3 rounds of HCG. There are a few on our diet site experiencing the same effects. It has not gotten extreemley painful for me, but it is constant now...if it is my kidneys what would cause this ?
The following are drugs and supplements that can put added pressure on kidney function: 1. NSAIDS (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) 2. Antibiotics 3. Dietary supplements/ weight loss supplements
Are you at risk for kidney disease A few simple tests will tell your doctor how well your kidneys are working. He or she will:
Check your blood pressure Take a blood sample and test the levels of blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine, which are good indicators of how well your kidneys are filtering your blood Take a urine sample to check for blood or protein in your urine
